My passion for art grew in senior school whilst completing my GCSEs. Initially with my an eye for detail, symmetry and design. I had aspirations of becoming an architect, however more recently my artistic abilities have taken me by surprise!
Shortly to embark on A Levels with Fine Art, Product Design and Business Studies, I wish to further develop my talents and hope to become a successful artist in the future.
I experiment with many different mediums, such as acrylics, oils, inks, charcoals, graphite and fine liners. Firstly I start with photographic images (often taken myself) and produce a detailed outline with pencil onto a canvass. I then build colour and texture using acrylics, adding further detail with fineliners before using charcoals to enhance shade and tone.
My favoured subjects are fine buildings, architecture and cityscapes although I've also produced work on other subjects, for example natural forms.
I take inspiration from buildings and my surroundings and enjoy studying the work of others artists in these areas. Particularly I admire the works of great artists, such as Sunga Park, Ian Murphy, Stephen Whatley and Stephen Wiltshire and I have enjoyed learning through their examples. My style is still developing, but at these early stages I find the combination of fine architectural detail with abstract techniques most exciting. I hope you agree!
